S-Clon ® (Eszopiclone) is a new, single-isomer, non-benzodiazepine, cyclopyrrolone agent that is rapidly absorbed with time to peak concentration of approximately 1 h and a half-life of 5 h-5.8 h. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved oral eszopiclone on December 15, 2004. It is the S-isomer of zopiclone, which has been available in Europe since 1992. Eszopiclone is the first of several new agents entering the US market for the treatment of insomnia. Studies showed that S-Clon ® (eszopiclone)
