Vomec® is a piperazine-derivative antihistamine that used as an antiemetic. It has antiemetic, anticholinergic and antihistaminic properties. The antiemetic and antivertiginous action of Vomec® is due to the reduction of sensitivity of labyrinthine apparatus and inhibition of the conductivity of vestibular-cerebellar pathways. The action may be mediated through nerve pathways to the vomiting center (VC) from the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ), peripheral nerve pathways, the VC, or other CNS centers. Vomec® works up to 24 hours and is safe in pregnancy. Vomec® is indicated for prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, radiation sickness and vertigo associated with the diseases of the vestibular system (e.g. Meniere's disease, labyrinthitis and other vestibular disturbances).
