Dextromethorphan
( Dextromethorphan Syrup )
Dextromethorphan® is an antitussive and the d-isomer of codeine analogue of levorphanol. It acts as a cough suppressant. It shows depressant action the cough centre of the brain. It is indicated for non productive cough.
Mucosol
( Ambroxol syrup Ambroxol Drops )
Mucosol® (Ambroxol) possesses mucokinetic and secretolytic properties. It promotes the removal of tenacious secretions in the respiratory tract and reduces mucus stasis. Expectoration of mucus is facilitated and breathing is eased considerably. Mucus secretion is normalised during Mucosol® (Ambroxol) treatment. The film-like secretion on the surface of the respiratory mucosa can thus perform its normal protective function. Mucosol® (Ambroxol) is well tolerated and may be useful for long term use.
Nokof
( Carobcistine Syrup DS Syrup )
Nokof® (Carbocisteine) reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions and facilitates expectoration. It alters the physical and chemical characteristics of the mucin components of sputum to a more ?normal? pattern (by reducing fructose and sulphate content and increasing the proportion of sialomucins). In patients with COPD, mucolytics reduce the number of exacerbations and days of illness.
Prudex
( Dextromethorphan, Pseudoephedrine and Triprolidine Syrup )
Prudex® is a combined preparation of dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine and triprolidine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant which has a central action on the cough centre in the medulla. Pseudoephedrine in the syrup is an effective upper respiratory decongestant which produces its decongestant effect within 30 minutes which lasts for at least 4 hours. Triprolidine provides symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis and common cold. Prudex® is an antitussive preparation indicated for the symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis and upper respiratory tract disorders accompanied by unproductive cough which are benefited from a combination of an antitussive, a decongestant and an antihistamine.
Spulyt
( Bromhexine Hydrochloride Tablet, Syrup )
Spulyt® is a highly effective Spulytic expectorant. It is indicated in the treatment of respiratory disorders associated with productive cough. These include; tracheobronchitis, bronchitis with emphysema, bronchiectasis, bronchitis with bronchospasm, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions and pneumoconiosis.
Tripec
( Guaifenesin Pseudoephedrine & Triprolidine Syrup )
Tripec® is a combination preparation of three active ingredients namely Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride and Triprolidine Hydrochloride. Guaifenesin reduces the viscosity of tenacious sputum and is used as an expectorant. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant as well as a bronchodilator for the upper respiratory tract, which gives symptomatic relief of nasal congestion. Triprolidine is an antihistamine; it is used for the symptomatic relief of hypersensitivity reactions including rhinitis, conjunctivitis and urticaria. Tripec® is highly palatable orange flavoured syrup.Tripec® is indicated for the symptomatic relief of upper respiratory tract disorders associated with common cold, allergy and other viral infections. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of productive cough. Tripec? is also used to relieve symptoms of upper respiratory tract allergies e.g. sneezing, rhinorrhoea and pruritus of nose, eyes and throat.
