Alastine Eye Drops

Epinastine 0.05%

Alastine® Eye Drop is the preparation of Epinastine 0.05%. Epinastine is a topically active, direct H1-receptor antagonist and an inhibitor of the release of histamine from the mast cell. Epinastine is selective for the histamine H1-receptor and has affinity for the histamine H2-receptor. Epinastine also possesses affinity for the α1-, α 2-, and 5-HT2–receptors. Some anti-allergic agents markedly inhibit basal tear production due to the blockade of muscarinic-3 receptor. Epinastine causes minimal inhibition of muscarinic-3 receptors leading to limited interference in the tear secretion.

Inflavis Eye & Ear Drops

( Eye/Ear Drops
Dexamethasone Phosphate 0.1% )

Inflavis (Dexamethasone sodium phosphate) ophthalmic solution is a clear, colorless to pale yellow topical steroid solution for ophthalmic or otic administration.
Dexamethasone is a synthetic analog of naturally occurring glucocorticoids (hydrocortisone and cortisone). Dexamethasone sodium phosphate is a water soluble, inorganic ester of dexamethasone. It is approximately three thousand times more soluble in water at 25?C than hydrocortisone.

Inflavis indicated for post-operative use to reduce inflammatory reactions and suppress graft reaction.

For Ear: Indicated in the steroid responsive inflammatory conditions of the external auditory meatus, such as allergic otitis externa, selected purulent and non-purulent infective otitis externa.

Administration of dexamethasone to the eye may rarely cause stinging, burning, redness or watering of the eyes. Topically applied dexamethasone is not recommended in breastfeeding mothers, as it is possible that traces of dexamethasone may enter the breast milk.

Intramol Eye Drops

( Eye Drops Timolol 0.5% )

Intramol (Timolol maleate) is a beta1 and beta2 (non-selective) adrenergic receptor-blocking agent, when applied topically to the eye, has the action of reducing elevated, as well as normal, intraocular pressure, whether or not accompanied by glaucoma.

It is used in the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. The dose is one drop of Timolol in the affected eye(s) once daily. Because in some patients the intraocular pressure-lowering response to Timolol may require a few weeks to stabilize, evaluation should include a determination of intraocular pressure after approximately 4 weeks of treatment.

Timolol has little or no effect on the pupil and should not be used alone in the treatment of angle-closure glaucoma.
Patients should not usually receive two topical ophthalmic beta-adrenergic blocking agents concurrently. Every dropper bottle contains 5 ml of sterile solution. Each ml contains Timolol Maleate BP equivalent to Timolol 5.0 mg.

Neofloxin Eye& Ear Drops

( Eye/Ear Drops
Ciprofloxacin 0.3% )

(Neofloxin) ciprofloxacin has cidal and inhibitory activities against bacteria which result from an interference with DNA gyrase, an enzyme needed by the bacterium for the synthesis of DNA. Thus, vital information from the bacterial chromosomes cannot be transcribed, which causes a break-down of bacterial metabolism.
Ciprofloxacin has a very high in vitro activity against almost all gram negative microorganisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is also effective against gram positive bacteria, such as Staphylococci and Streptococci. Anaerobes are in general less susceptible.
Topical ocular administration of ciprofloxacin to immature animals did not cause any arthropathy and there is no evidence that the ophthalmic dosage form has any effect on the weight bearing points.
Neofloxin Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of different types of eye and ear infections.
Eye: Neofloxin eye drop is indicated for the treatment of corneal ulcers and superficial infections of the eye and adnexa caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Ear: Neofloxin eye drop is indicated for the treatment of Otitis externa, acute otitis media, chronic suppurative otitis media. Prophylaxis in otic surgeries such as mastoid surgery.

Caution should be exercised when ciprofloxacin is administered to nursing mothers. Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children. Every plastic dropper bottle contains 5 ml sterile eye drops. Each ml contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg.

Odycin Eye Drops

Moxifloxacin is a synthetic fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent active in vitro against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative ocular pathogens, atypical microorganisms and anaerobes. The antibacterial action of moxifloxacin results from inhibition of topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV.

Moxifloxacin, an effective drug for ocular infections, has a bulky side-chain at C-7 position which-

  • Inhibits cell’s efflux pump mechanism that expels the drug out of cell
  • Increase drug’s length of stay in bacterial cell

Thus maximizes efficacy and inhibits resistance to the antibiotic.

Odycin® is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of the following organisms: Aerobic Gram-positive microorganisms: Corynebacterium species, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominis, Staphylococcus warneri, Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus viridans group, Aerobic Gram-negative microorganisms: Acinetobacter Iwoffii, Haemophilus influenza, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Other microorganisms: Chlamydia trachomatis.

The recommended dose of Odycin® is one drop in the affected eye 3 times a day for 7 days.

Odycin® Eye drops: Plastic dropper bottle of 5 ml sterile eye drops. Each ml contains Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Moxifloxacin 5 mg.
