What is Xalaprost®?
Xalaprost® (Latanoprost 0.005%) Sterile Ophthalmic Solution is supplied as a sterile, isotonic, buffered aqueous solution of latanoprost with a PH of approximately 6.7 and an osmolality of approximately 267 mOsmol/kg. Latanoprost is a prostaglandin analogue which reduces the Intraocular Pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor.
What happens in glaucoma & ocular hypertension?
Eyes are naturally filled with a watery fluid. New fluid is always being produced by body while the old fluid is draining out.But if drainage channels don’t work well, the fluid begins to build up. If this happens, the pressure inside the eyes will rise. Usually people can’t feel this pressure, but it can cause damage to the optic nerve and lead to permanent vision loss.

Xalaprost® works by unclogging the drainage channels, reducing the pressure in the eyes.

What is the dosage guideline of Xalaprost®?
The recommended dose is 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
How Xalaprost® is supplied?
Each LDPE dropper bottle contains 2.5 ml sterile eye drops and each ml contains 0.05 mg of Latanoprost INN.
